For 40 years, the Cougar Open has brought together the Catholic Central community for a day centered around golf, generosity, and, most importantly, supporting students.

Held annually at the beautiful Egypt Valley Country Club, the Cougar Open has become much more than a golf outing. It’s a tradition that connects alumni, families, friends, supporters, and members of the Catholic Central community, all coming together for a shared purpose: investing in the future of Catholic Central Athletics.

Catholic Central Cougar Open - Four Decades of Giving Back

Reaching the 40-year milestone is something worth celebrating. For four decades, the Cougar Open has helped raise funds that contribute to the Catholic Central athletic department and provide opportunities for student-athletes.

Behind every fundraiser are the students who ultimately benefit. The resources raised through events like the Cougar Open help support athletic programs, equipment, facilities, and the many experiences that make being a student-athlete such an important part of the Catholic Central experience.

While the golf may be the centerpiece of the day, the real impact extends far beyond the course.

A Day Built Around Community

One of the best parts of the Cougar Open is the atmosphere. Golf brings people together, but it’s the relationships and sense of community that make the event special.

Throughout the day, teams compete, friends catch up, alumni reconnect, and supporters share plenty of laughs along the way. Whether you're playing for the championship or simply enjoying a day outside with friends, there’s a sense of camaraderie that is hard to miss.

And while the weather doesn’t always cooperate, that has never been enough to take away from the spirit of the event.

The 40th annual Cougar Open was a great reminder that the strength of a community isn’t measured by perfect conditions. Even when the skies aren’t blue, the people who show up, support the cause, and enjoy the day together continue to make the Cougar Open shine.

More Than Just a Golf Outing

Events like the Cougar Open are a great example of what can happen when a community comes together around a common goal.

Every golfer, sponsor, volunteer, donor, and supporter plays a role in making the event possible. Their participation helps create opportunities for Catholic Central students while continuing a tradition that has now spanned four decades.

There is something special about seeing generations of supporters come together for an event that has become part of the Catholic Central tradition. Forty years later, the mission remains the same: have a great day, support Catholic Central, and give back to the kids.

Looking Ahead

Celebrating 40 years is a milestone, but it’s also a chance to look toward the future.

The Cougar Open continues to demonstrate the incredible support surrounding Catholic Central Athletics. As the tradition moves into its next chapter, the hope is that it will continue bringing people together and creating an even greater impact for generations of students to come.

From the golf course to the conversations afterward, the 40th Annual Cougar Open was a celebration of tradition, generosity, friendship, and community.

Here’s to 40 years of the Cougar Open — and to many more years of supporting Catholic Central and its student-athletes.
